G Patty Mills had his best performance in his short Spurs’ career with 20 points in 20 minutes off the bench Tuesday. The recent free-agent pickup gave Spurs coach Gregg Popovich another option behind starter Tony Parker.
G Danny Green had 19 points in 26 minutes in Tuesday’s 125-90 rout at Cleveland. Green played for the Cavaliers as a rookie before being cut in training camp the following season. “It does mean a little something to me because this was my first team,” Green said. “It’s nice, but that’s not the important thing for me. It’s more important that we continue to get better. We want to keep winning going into the playoffs.”
G Tony Parker also scored 19 against the Cavs in only 23 minutes. The playmaker made 9-of-12 shots in the efficient outing.
