(Corrects lead to say Ignatyev referring to U.S., not

international, sanctions against Iran)

MOSCOW, April 5 (Reuters) – The head of Russia’s central

bank said on Thursday he was not aware that any Russian banks

had facilitated payments for exports of oil from Iran, which is

the target of the U.S. sanctions over its nuclear programme.

Sergei Ignatyev also told a news conference that, although

the central bank had not issued any formal guidance on the

matter, Russian banks should be aware of the sanctions.

“I am not aware of any concrete facts,” Ignatyev said in

response to a question. “We have not as of now made any

recommendations.”
