Investigators are still determining what caused a house fire in Elgin early this morning that sent a pregnant woman and a toddler to the hospital.
Firefighters responded at 2:01 a.m. to a house in the 400 block of Dwight Street, finding flames coming out of a basement window, said Battalion Chief Bryan McMahan.
