Lightning’s Stamkos nets 60 to join elite group
Tampa Bay Lightnng center Steven Stamkos become just the 20th player in league history to record 60 goals in a season, reaching the mark in the final game of the season. The 60-goal plateau has been reached 39 times in league history, but only twice since 1995-96, when Alex Ovechkin finished the 2007-08 season with 65 goals.
Stamkos captured his second Rocket Richard Trophy in the past three seasons. Stamkos reached the 60-goal mark while registering a career-high 97 points.
