Mitt Romney is correct when he points out that the tough economy has hurt many women. But Democratic adviser Hilary Rosen is correct in pointing out that Romney’s wife, Ann, is not one of those women.

It’s nice for Mrs. Romney that she is married to an astronomically wealthy man, which allows her to choose not to be a part of the labor force. For Rosen to have pointed that out is in no way an attack on the institution of motherhood, no matter how badly Republicans want to pretend it is.
