G Delonte West had a big game taking over for Jason Kidd as the starting point guard. He finished with 21 points, seven assists and six rebounds. West gave his team a bit of a scare when he went in for a slam dunk and came down in pain after slamming his still-healing right ring finger against the rim. He stayed in the game and obviously finished strong.
F Shawn Marion recorded his third double-double in four games with 17 points and 14 rebounds at Portland. It was his fourth consecutive double-digit rebounding game. Marion, at 6-foot-7, is the shortest player in the league to lead his team in rebounding. He has averaged 12.8 boards per game in that span.
C Brendan Haywood has seen his playing time drastically decrease, bottoming out Friday with just eight minutes. In the last four games, Haywood has averaged 11.8 minutes, 4.0 points and 3.8 rebounds.
