Reggie Gray is tied for fourth in the Arena Football League with 102 points after five games this season.
The swift Rush receiver has 17 touchdown catches entering Saturday night’s game with the Milwaukee Mustangs at Allstate Arena. The complement of receiver options for quarterback Russ Michna also includes Jared Perry. Marquis Hamilton and Terrance Turner.
“The receivers are making the game easy, I just have to make every throw,” Michna said. “When I put the ball in the right place, they catch it, and things happen. I can’t say enough about them. They’re doing everything right; they’re picking things up on the run.”
Gray has 66 touchdown catches in 25 games with the Rush. He is sixth in the AFL this season with 558 receiving yards.
While Michna has completed 166 passes for 1,116 yards and 30 touchdowns, He had a season-high four passes intercepted in Saturday’s 70-49 loss in Georgia. He also lost a fumble to the Force. It was the first defeat of the season for the Central Division-leading Rush.
“The thing about Russ this year is how involved he is,” coach Bob McMillen said. “He’s coming to practice and giving us plays, describing what works best and really driving home the point of succeeding on every play.”
