One person was taken in good condition from the site of a fire in a single-room occupancy hotel in the Bronzeville neighborhood this afternoon, a Fire Department spokeswoman said.
Firefighters were called to the three-story brick building at 520 E. 47th St. just after 2 p.m. and called a working fire response, said Fire Department spokeswoman Meg Ahlheim.
One person was taken to a local hospital in good-to-fair condition from the site of the fire, but the person’s injuries may not have been directly fire-related, Ahlheim said.
