Patriots’ Light officially retires
Offensive lineman Matt Light officially retired on Tuesday when the New England Patriots placed him on the reserve/retired list, ESPNBoston.com reported.
The move had been expected for several weeks, but because Light is now on the reserve/retired list, he doesn’t count against the Patriots’ 90-man roster limit.
Light theoretically could change his mind and return, but this transaction means Light is considered retired.
Light, 33, played his entire career with the Patriots after the team selected him in the second round of the 2001 draft.
