The body of a man in his 40s was pulled from the Chicago River in the Avondale neighborhood this morning, authorities said.

A resident out walking a dog spotted the body near Roscoe and California avenues around 7 a.m. and called 911, police said.

The body was recovered by police and fire crews and brought to the Cook County medical examiner’s office, police said. The body was clothed, and the man is believed to have been in his early 40s.
