LANSING, Michigan, April 26 (Reuters) – A repeal of
Michigan’s controversial emergency manager law, aimed at helping
finances of several cities, failed to make the November ballot
after a tie vote by a four-member state elections panel on
Thursday.
A petition drive to repeal the law had collected over
226,000 signatures. The law was in a consent agreement signed
earlier this month by state and Detroit officials to fix
Detroit’ sagging finances.
