Jean Driscoll, who became a world-renowned Paralympic track champion after joining the University of Illinois’ wheelchair athletes program, was named Sunday as a new member of to the U.S. Olympic Hall of Fame.
Driscoll, 45, who was born with spina bifida, won five gold and 12 overall medals in her four appearances at the Paralympic Games.
The Milwaukee native also won the women’s division of the Boston Marathon a record eight times.
The Class of 2012 will be inducted in a July 12 ceremony at the Harris Theater in Chicago.
