Oilers coach Renney won’t return
Tom Renney will not return as the Edmonton Oilers head coach next season, the team announced Thursday.
The Oilers decided not to renew Renney’s contract after he went 55-87-22 in his two seasons as head coach.
The team finished last in the Northwest Division both seasons, but used a lot of young players.
Edmonton will have the No. 1 overall draft pick this year.
