Rookie Eduardo Escobar will start for a second consecutive game at third base in place of injured Brent Morel as the White Sox try to win their third consecutive game Saturday against the Cubs at Wrigley Field.
Morel has been nagged by lower back soreness, but he is 4-for-30 over his past 10 games.
This will be Escobar’s fifth start at third base.
Meanwhile, Dan Johnson has played three consecutive games at third base for Triple-A Charlotte, and he hit a home run last night. Johnson is batting .301 with nine home runs, 34 RBIs, 38 walks and .463 on-base percentage for the Knights.
