A man was killed when he drove his pick-up truck onto the wrong lanes of Interstate 80 near Interstate 65 and collided head-on with a semi truck early this morning, according to Indiana State Police.

Tim Leib of Hobart, Ind., was driving a black Honda Ridgeline truck west in the eastbound lanes of the expressway when he ran into a semi hauling 41,000 pounds of food about 1:30 a.m., police said. Leib was dead at the scene.

The semi was in the right center lane when a semi in front of it swerved suddenly, state police said. The semi then hit the pick-up head on. The semi driver, from Maryland, was not injured.

Police said alcohol may have been a factor and they were awaiting results of toxicology tests.
