Villanova 49, Georgia State 24: John Robertson passed for two touchdowns and ran for another as the Wildcats remained undefeated on the road in Colonial Athletic Association play with a rout of the Panthers.
Kevin Monangai rushed 18 times for 130 yards and a touchdown while Robertson added 87 more on the ground for Villanova (6-2. 4-1 CAA), which moved to 3-0 away from home in conference action behind a rushing attack that generated 343 yards.
The Wildcats wasted little time building an insurmountable lead over the Panthers (1-7, 1-4) as Robertson capped off their first drive with a 6-yard touchdown run. After an exchange of punts, Poppy Livers increased the advantage to 14-0 with a 66-yard punt return for a touchdown.
Robertson threw for his first score 31 seconds into the second quarter – a 14-yarder to Norman White – to stretch the margin to 21 points and ended his day with a 2-yard touchdown toss to Earnest Pettway in the third quarter to give Villanova a 42-10 advantage.
Albert Wilson finished with six catches for 104 yards and a touchdown for Georgia State, which hasn’t won consecutive games in more than two years.
