D.J. Byrd scored a season-high 22 points and knocked down six 3-pointers as Purdue rolled over Clemson 73-61 in the Big 10/ACC Challenge.

Byrd made his first five 3-pointers and was 6-of-11 overall. The Boilermakers made 8-of-18 3-pointers and never trailed after Byrd knocked down his first 3-pointer just 3:13 into the contest.

Terone Johnson added 12 points and also handed out six assists as Purdue (3-3) led by as many 23. A.J. Hammons finished with 10 points and six rebounds, helping the Boilermakers to a 35-21 advantage on the glass.

Devin Booker scored 16 points while K.J. McDaniels added 15 for Clemson (4-2).

The Tigers played without leading scorer Milton Jennings, who was suspended due to a violation of team rules.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Though Clemson coach Brad Brownell said Jennings was suspended for violating team rules, the Anderson, S.C. Independent Mail newspaper reported he was arrested for marijuana possession. … Purdue had averaged slightly over four three-pointers in its first five games. … Byrd had made just 7-of-32 3-pointers before his best showing of the season.
