TORONTO, Dec 24 (Reuters) – Canada’s main stock index was
little changed in quiet Christmas Eve trading on Monday, as
slightly stronger financial stocks offset a drop in materials,
and investors awaited news on deadlocked U.S. budget talks.
The Toronto Stock Exchange’s S&P;/TSX composite index
was up 5.76 points, or 0.05 percent, at 12,391.46
shortly after the open.
