The wife of former University of Pennsylvania basketball star Matthew White has been charged of stabbing her husband to death in bed, according to a Philadelphia Inquirer report, citing court records.
White, 53, was sleeping when Maria Rey Garcia-Pellon stabbed him in the neck early Monday morning, according to the court record. She had gone to the kitchen for a glass of water and two knives, then returned to the bedroom and slipped the knives on her side of the bed.
After the stabbing, Garcia-Pellon changed her clothes and went to a friend’s home, where she said White had allegedly been watching pornography on a computer, and she killed him.
The friend called 911.
“I caught him looking at pornography, young girls, I love kids,” Garcia-Pellon told investigators, according to the Inquirer. “I had to do it.”
