RF Jose Bautista hit his 146th home run as a Blue Jay and is three shy of Lloyd Moseby for sixth place on the franchise’s all-time list. Bautista came into his eighth-inning at-bat against David Robertson hitless in his last nine at-bats.

1B Edwin Encarnacion hit a home run for the fourth straight game and had his ninth career two home run game. That marked the second time he has done so with the other instance occurring April 27-30, 2012. Over his last 13 games since April 14, Encarnacion is hitting .319 (15-for-47) with six home runs and 12 RBIs.

LHP Aaron Laffey, who pitched briefly for the Mets, tied his career high by issuing five walks for the third time. He also has allowed eight earned runs in 7 2/3 innings in New York this season.

OF Rajai Davis made his second start of the season at designated hitter and his third-inning single gave him a seven-game hitting streak. During the modest streak, Davis is 10-for-33.

LHP J.A. Happ will attempt to become Toronto’s first three-game winner while attempting to avoid a third straight winless start. Happ pitched well Monday in Baltimore, allowing an unearned run and four hits in six innings while picking up a no-decision in a 2-1 loss. Happ is 2-0 with a 5.40 ERA in three career starts against New York. Both wins against the Yankees came last year as Happ was supported by 18 runs despite pitching to a 6.75 ERA in those games.
