Rutgers 116, Stillman 89: Myles Mack collected a season-high 23 points to lead six Scarlet Knights scorers in double figures as they crushed the Tigers in the consolation round of the NIT Season Tip-Off.

Wally Judge and J.J. Moore each scored 20 points for the Scarlet Knights (4-3), who finished with their highest output since 1992 by shooting a season-best 60.3 percent from the field. Judge had a game-high 13 rebounds while Moore grabbed seven rebounds and was 3-for-4 from beyond the arc, along with 7-for-9 from the foul line.

D’Von Campbell and Malick Kone came off the Rutgers bench for 17 and 11 points, respectively, with Kadeem Jack contributing 10 points. Jeff Wherry had a game-high 24 points for the Tigers (1-6), who lost their fourth in a row, while Daniel Bryant hit for 22 points off the bench and Markeith Madison chipped in 17 points.

The Scarlet Knights came in as the ninth-worst shooting team in the American Athletic Conference, but shot a scorching 70 percent from the floor and 3-point territory in the first half to take a 60-51 lead at the intermission. Madison and Moore each had a trio of treys in the half, as Rutgers was 7-for-10 from deep.

Rutgers put the game away with a 12-0 run to open the second half, where the Scarlet Knights shot 52.6 percent from the field. The Scarlet Knights steadily pulled away, despite Wherry’s eight 3-pointers, to crush the Tigers, who never led in the game.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Rutgers’ 60 points in the first half were the most in a half by the Scarlet Knights since they scored 61 in 2006 against Seton Hall. .. Rutgers reached 100 points for the first time since 2004. … The Tigers were outrebounded, 52-32.
