After Ashanti Norals had all four limbs amputated due to a botched sepsis diagnosis when she was 8, her mother was determined to give Ashanti a positive attitude and a meaningful life. The 11-year-old is active, attending an adaptive physical education program at Chicago State University, going to public school and generally being a lively sixth-grader.
