Feb 12 (Reuters) – Cuban immigrant Juan Carlos Chavez was
executed on Wednesday for the 1995 kidnapping, rape and murder
of 9-year-old Jimmy Ryce, a spokesman for Florida Governor Rick
Scott said.
Chavez died by lethal injection. The spokesman said he was
executed at 8:17 p.m. at Florida State Prison at Starke.
