Product designer and Kickstarter veteran Scott Wilson said this week he is looking into other crowdfunding options for his next project.
Wilson, founder and principal designer at West Loop studio Minimal, is developing a line of wearable technology to be called the Lynk Collection. He didn’t rule out using Kickstarter but said he’s looking at other options, citing “pain points” including problems verifying addresses of project supporters.
A Kickstarter spokesman said Thursday that site improvements have addressed Wilson’s concerns.
Wilson’s Kickstarter campaign for the TikTok + LunaTik Multi-Touch Watch Kit, raised nearly $1 million. Two other projects raised another $989,751. Wilson said some Lynk Collection items should be out later this year, with the rest released in 2015.
