A 64-year-old woman died after she was struck by a vehicle as she crossed a West Side crosswalk Sunday night, authorities said.
Jennie Davis, of the 5500 block of LeMoyne Street, was struck by a westbound vehicle about 9:40 p.m. in the 5500 block of West North Avenue in the North Austin neighborhood, authorities said. She was taken to Loyola University Medical Center but succumbed to her injuries, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
The driver of the vehicle fled and was not in custody as of early this morning, according to police.
