The Illinois High School Association announced the football schedules for the 2014 season, and the showdown between Downers Grove North and South takes place Oct. 3 at North.
North, which went 7-5 and made it to the Class 7A quarterfinals in 2013, opens the season with non-conference clashes with Lockport (Aug. 29) at home and Hinsdale South (Sept. 5) on the road before diving into West Suburban Silver Conference play.
South, which went 6-4 and lost in the first round of the Class 8A playoffs, will visit Benet Academy on Aug. 29 and hosts Proviso West Sept. 5 before heading into West Suburban Gold play.
