An unoccupied home in Wheaton caught on fire Wednesday night.

Wheaton firefighters were called to a two story single-family home in the 1400 block of Avery Avenue around 9 p.m. There was fire on both floors, officials said.

It was brought under control in about 15 minutes, but fire officials estimated about $150,000 in damage. The home was deemed uninhabitable and turned back over to the property owner.

The fire did not appear to be suspicious, fire officials said. The cause has not been determined.
