I consider myself a libertarian and don’t much care for Rahm Emanuel’s policies as mayor. Unfortunately, with the Democrats’ strangle-hold on Chicago politics, he’s probably the least of evils.
If voters foolishly reject him in favor of Karen (“We don’t believe in merit pay”) Lewis, the public-employee unions and other interests feeding at the taxpayers’ trough will run roughshod over the city.
Chicago, already in grave peril financially, will then be headed for a true Detroit-style bankruptcy.
