The following items were taken from Des Plaines police reports:
A car stereo valued at $800 was stolen from a car parked in a lot on the 1200 block of Washington St. between Aug. 16 and Aug. 17.
A welding machine valued at $500 was stolen from a shed on the 400 block of S. Fifth Ct. between Aug. 14 and Aug. 15.
Several concrete lawn statues valued at $1,000 were stolen from a residence on the 700 block of S. Warrington Rd. Aug. 15.
A second floor window was broken by an unknown caliber bullet fired Aug. 8 at a business on the 2600 block of S. River Rd. The bullet went through the window, struck a wall, hit a privacy window and came to rest on a desk. Damage was estimated at $2,450.
A barbecue grill and scrap metal valued at $460 was stolen from a business on the 2100 block of E. Touhy Ave. between Aug. 9 and Aug. 10.
A bronze-colored metal garden planter valued at $150 was stolen from a residence on the 900 block of E. Walter Dr. between Aug. 10 and Aug. 11.
A set of golf clubs valued at $500 was stolen from a car parked on a driveway on the 900 block of Arnold Ct. Aug. 11.
A wooden Forest Elementary School sign valued at $500 was broken between Aug. 8 and Aug. 11 on school grounds at 1375 South Fifth Avenue.
Two bicycles valued at $230 were stolen from in front of a store on the 1100 block of E. Oakton St. Aug. 10.
Clothes, passports and jewelry valued at $4,400 were stolen from a home on the 1500 block of S. Pennsylvania Ave. Aug. 9.
Cash, electronics and jewelry valued at $17,000 were stolen from a home on the 2500 block of S. Parkwood Lane Aug. 6.
