A motorcyclist was killed and his passenger was injured early Sunday morning in a crash on Lake Shore Drive, police said.
The motorcycle was traveling southbound in the 1700 block of Lake Shore Drive in the Lincoln Park neighborhood when the driver struck a median at 2:53 a.m., ejecting both the motorcyclist and the passenger from the motorcycle, police said.
The driver, Daniel Silva, 48, was pronounced dead at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, police said. The passenger, a 52-year-old woman, was also at Northwestern, where her condition had stabilized, police said.
The motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed at the time of the crash, police said.
