The following items were taken from Cary police reports:
A 29-year-old from Carpentersville was stopped for disobeying a stop sign and arrested for driving while license suspended near West Main Street and High Road around 1:45 p.m. on Oct. 15.
A 31-year-old from Crystal Lake was arrested for driving while license suspended near Route 14 and First Street around 4:38 p.m. on Oct. 14.
A 35-year-old from Crystal Lake was cited for improper lane usage and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident near Cary-Algonquin Road, north of cold Springs Road around 10:40 p.m. on Oct. 15. That driver allegedly crossed over lanes and struck another vehicle. The road was shut down for about 20 minutes to remove the vehicles.
A 17-year-old man from Cary and a homeless 20-year-old man were arrested for stealing bread from Rosati’s Pizza around 7:30 a.m. on Oct. 14. Police said they were located walking through Jaycee Park carrying a large bag containing bread. The juvenile was released to his grandmother and the 20-year-old was taken to McHenry County Jail.
A 34-year-old Algonquin woman was stopped for speeding, following too closely and unlawful use of sound amplification system near Cary Woods Circle and Spring Street around 3 a.m. on Oct. 15. She was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, speeding and following too closely.
A 27-year-old homeless man was arrested and charged with two counts of domestic battery around 9:50 a.m. on Oct. 13. He had been staying at a home in the 400 block of Oriole Trail and was accused of striking a 24-year-old woman in the face and fleeing. He was later found hiding in a wooded area in the 100 block of Hickory Lane.
A 25-year-old Cary woman was stopped for drifting in her lane and disobeying the stop sign at West Main Street near Boxwood Lane around 1:39 a.m. on Oct. 13. A cannabis smoking pipe and an amount of suspected cannabis was found in her car. She was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, disobeying a stop sign, operating an uninsured vehicle, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of cannabis less than 2.5 grams.
A semi tractor trailer struck a pedestrian crossing light pole, knocking it to the ground, near Route 14 and West Main Street around 6:50 a.m. The driver did not remain on the scene. The area around the pole was barricaded off, and Meade electric was contacted.
