When Alex Ovechkin comes to Chicago, the Blackhawks take notice.
“I like Ovechkin. He’s got that wicked shot. He plays hard too, he’s an aggressive player,” Blackhawks forward Andrew Shaw said. “I always thought he was a good player, fun to watch.”
Shaw and the rest of the team will get to watch Ovechkin up close as the Hawks take on the Capitals Friday night at the United Center as well as on Jan. 1 at the 2015 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic in Washington.
“He’s one of those guys that can make plays out of nothing. His shot (is) historic,” Hawks winger Bryan Bickell added. “He can shoot the puck from anywhere and it can potentially go in.
“We need to keep an eye on him, and don’t give him too much space, because if he does(get space), he’ll let it rip. If we do that, keep him off the scoresheet, we have a good opportunity to win.”
