If Twitter is the modern-day tar doll of Uncle Remus fame (in other words, a public relations trap), then consider Brandon Marshall its latest Br’er Rabbit.
The Bears receiver took the bait on Thursday when Twitter user @anthonygkalla allegedly made some unflattering remarks about Marshall’s mother, according to several reports, and a Twitter feud was on.
It escalated into Marshall offering the Detroit man $25,000 to get into a boxing ring with him. If the 6-foot-4, 230-pound NFL player were to win, Kalla had to apologize to Marshall’s mom and serve 100 hours at an orphanage, according to the tweets.
"@AnthonyGKalla: @BMarshall that's it? Cmon brandy make it 25 and we can do it in Detroit"
And you have to apologize to my mom.

There was no final agreement, at least publicly, made by Kalla, whose Twitter and Instagram accounts were protected and accessible only to confirmed followers as of Thursday afternoon. Maybe Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh will pick up the challenge when the Bears visit Detroit on Nov. 27.
