
The village of Vernon Hills will begin picking up Christmas trees left at the curb on Monday, Jan. 5.
Pickup runs through Jan. 16, 2015, on a schedule for each neighborhood. Residents who miss their scheduled dates must bring their trees to the Vernon Hills Public Works Department Building, 490 Greenleaf Drive, to be recycled.
The village is asking residents to remove all ornaments, lights and stands from trees before placing them by the curb, and not to leave trees in a bag. Trees must be placed at the curb by 7 a.m. the day of collection.
Tree pickup follows this schedule:
Monday, Jan. 5 and 12: All areas north of Route 60
Tuesday, Jan. 6 and 13: Deerpath, Stone Fence, Centennial Crossing, Aspen Point
Wednesday, Jan. 7 and 14: Plymouth Farms,Westwood, Grosse Pointe (including GP Circle), Old Grove Farms, Villa by the Lake
Thursday, Jan. 8 and 15: Country Club Estates (old section), Hawthorn Club, Sugar Creek, River Grove, Sanctuary Point, Sarah’s Glen, Writer Estates, Georgetown Square, Port Clinton Place
Friday, Jan. 9 and 16: Make-up day for bad weather or delays
