Police gave tickets to five teenagers and one person was arrested in connection with more than 30 garage doors being tagged with spray-paint over the last month.

Ismael A. Jimenez, 21, of 115 E. Naperville Road, Westmont, was arrested at 8:47 p.m. on the 7400 block of Fullerton Avenue and charged with criminal defacement of property and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. According to police, Jimenez had been spray-painting on garage doors and garages throughout the village with the five teenage boys, whose ages range from 13 to 17.

The majority of the graffiti had the slogan “FBG100.” The slogan possibly represents a Chicago-based rap group called “Fly Boy Gang,” police said.

Elmwood Park Police Chief Frank Fagiano said they brought in Cook County’s Graffiti Unit to remove the graffiti. Police will be seeking compensation from the teenagers’ parents and Jimenez, Fagiano said.

Fagiano said his two police officers dedicated to juvenile cases put in a lot of time to find those who were responsible.

“It’s very time-consuming when something like this happens,” he said. “I was glad they grabbed them all.”

Jimenez is scheduled to appear in court next on July 16.
