The following items were gathered from reports released by the Batavia Police Department.
Ammunition for air soft guns was reported stolen from Wal-Mart, 801 N. Randall Rd., on July 18. The man who stole the ammunition fled in a white SUV when confronted by mall security.
A laptop computer was stolen from a vehicle overnight on July 14-July 15 from the 1200 block of Halladay Drive. Officers later recovered the missing laptop.
A driver of a car parked in the Batavia public parking garage found a horizontal scratch about 4 feet long on July 17.
Five reports were made on July 15 about burglaries to vehicles parked in the 1200 block of Donat Court, the 1100 block of Halladay Drive, and the 1300 block of Green Pheasant Lane.
Matthew P. Arnold, 21, of the 700 block of Maves Drive, was cited for retail theft from Wal-Mart, 801 N. Randall Rd. Mikayla R. Ness, 20, of the 400 block of Rathbone Avenue in Aurora, was also cited for retail theft from Wal-Mart at the same time.
A bottle of alcohol was reported stolen from Jewel, 119 S. Randall Rd., on July 13.
An unoccupied vehicle parked in the 2400 block of Big Woods Drive was found with extensive damage and its air bags deployed on July 13.
Paula K. Fox, 42, of the 400 block of Chestnut Street, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident on July 12.
Three of the four stop signs at the intersection of Maple and Republic streets were found spray-painted on July 12.
A metal storage box at Memorial Park, 601 Illinois Ave, was found spray painted on July 7. Items were removed from inside the box and the bike path was spray painted as well.
Lauren M. Steffens, 27, of the 3900 block of Parkside Drive in Hoffman Estates, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and speeding on July 7.
