Fake farming adventure
Talk about dumbing down America. You indicated that the county fair association wants area youngsters to know where their food comes from, so what do they do? Create “Ag Adventure” where kids harvest fake produce — apples, oranges, potatoes and carrots of molded plastic which they then sell at a fake farmers market. Really? Why not a real farmers market? Isn’t this the county fair after all? But wait, it gets even better. The kids also milk a fake cow by pulling on its fake teats. Don’t they have livestock at the fair anymore where the kids can witness the real thing? I hope they kept a list of all the kids who went on the “Ag Adventure” because I see the need for intensive therapy in the very near future.
Put bike path on Pershing
If Waukegan Mayor Motley and the councilmen want a bike path, they should put it over on Pershing Road, which is closer to the lakefront than the Amstutz is.
Bottle-feeding government
Social Security recipients aren’t getting their proper annual raises because the federal government keeps giving money to illegal aliens and others who refuse to work. Many people have realized that after their unemployment runs out they can go on disability assistance. We’ll never have proper prosperity with a government bottle-feeding so many people that are fully capable of finding work. Where are all the jobs that President Obama claims he produced?
Rauner’s mafia
Gov. Rauner and his mob are running this state like the mafia. He has all the Republican representatives voting in his favor on different issues. Now he wants to withhold money from municipalities that were granted licenses for video gambling. This is money that’s regulated under the gambling law.
Worried about lions
Sen. Bob Menendez, a Democrat from New Jersey, is trying to pass a bill which puts the lion on the endangered species list. God forbid these Democrats would actually do something for this country and start doing their job.
End dynasty of career pols
The time has come to end the dynasty of career politicians who will be asking for our vote next year. The Bushes, Clintons and even Joe Biden will hurt instead of help our country thrive again because they have their own agenda. Be careful of what you wish for.
No substances to liberals
Give it to the Obama administration with this human-trafficking report that was just released. The American government downgraded certain countries for political reasons. It’s so typical of Democrats and liberals — they are all about show and feel good. They don’t want any reality in their life. Why would the U.S. want to downplay human trafficking? It’s ridiculous. There is no substance to a Democrat or a liberal.
