Air and Water Show should go on
The death of that young soldier during the Chicago Air and Water Show was a terrible tragedy to be sure. While my own son didn’t jump out of planes, he did serve two tours in Iraq, and we are grateful he returned.
Some people say the Air and Water Show should be discontinued because of Army Sgt. 1st Class Corey Hood’s death. Somehow, I don’t think he would have wanted that.
It’s a terrible thing, but deaths occur at circuses, car races, horse races and other forms of entertainment.
Others complain about the noise. For a few days once a year, please spare me. We have to listen to motorcycles all year long.
This exhibit put on by our military should remind us of the job they do 24/7 to protect us.

No right to endanger children

Time to warn Congress
Everyone should write or phone their U.S. representative and senators with a simple and direct statement — if they vote to accept the nuclear deal with Iran negotiated by Secretary of State John Kerry they will be voted out of office.
That may be our only salvation. The alternative will be a race to arm the entire Mideast with nuclear weapons assuring mutual destruction.
