A 20-year-old woman was hospitalized this morning after a three-car crash at the intersection of Beckwith Avenue and Shermer Road in Morton Grove Monday morning.

The woman was injured after one cars crashed into the side of another, and that vehicle spun out and hit a third vehicle that had been crossing the intersection, police said.

The woman was a passenger in one of the cars, police said. She was found unresponsive in the vehicle, and was taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge shortly after the crash occurred around 10 a.m. Monday.

“We’re still waiting for updates on her condition, but it does not appear to be life threatening,” said Cmdr. Paul Yaras of the Morton Grove Police Department.

Police did not release the woman’s name.

Two other passengers who were in the vehicle with the woman were uninjured, Yaras said. The drivers of the two other vehicles involved also left the scene of the accident without injuries, he said.

Beckwith Avenue and Shermer Road were closed for three hours as a result of the crash.

“We’re trying to determine whether any violations occurred, and we’re waiting on blood work to come back,” Yaras said. “As we get more information, we’ll put it out.”
