Instead of recruiting a human football expert to predict each Bears game, RedEye asked a sea lion. Because it’s more fun. Laguna, who lives at the Shedd Aquarium, will try is hand–er, flipper–at prognostication. #LagunaPicks
RedEye will keep track of Laguna’s picks right here all season.

Laguna was found stranded and malnourished on Laguna Beach in January 2013. He was nursed back to health but was found starving, along with almost 1,500 other young sea lions, on the shores of Southern California a few weeks later. That’s when the Shedd rescued him and brought him to Chicago, where he is excelling, according to trainers at the aquarium.
Laguna’s record: 2-4 after Week 7 (he picked the Bears over Detroit in Week 6, and the Bears had a bye last week)
Fun fact: The coat of the adult male sea lion is much darker brown than females and immature males, which have a tan appearance.
