A 30-year-old man shot in South Austin on Sept. 18 died Wednesday, officials said.

Jermel Clay, 30, of the 2700 block of West 15th Street, was pronounced dead at 6:52 p.m. Wednesday at Mount Sinai Hospital, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

He had been shot in the face, chest and abdomen in the 400 block of South Central Avenue about 10:55 p.m. Sept. 18. Two other men, ages 38 and 41, were wounded in the shooting.

An autopsy Friday determined Clay died from multiple gunshot wounds, according to the office.
