Heavy accumulating snow will gradually end from the west Saturday, moving east as the center of low pressure passes south and then curves northeast. This early season snowstorm could end up breaking two snowfall records (dating to 1884) for Nov. 20 (old record 2.8 inches set in 1996) and Nov. 21 (3.0 inches in 1893).

With clearing skies, diminishing winds and colder air moving in over the top of a fresh, thick snow cover, temperatures were expected to plummet Saturday night, dropping into the teens by Sunday morning. Wind chills will drop into the single digits Sunday with temperatures slowly rising out of the teens into the 20s and westerly winds picking up, gusting to 20 mph.
