Two masked men entered an Oswego Subway restaurant and demanded money from several employees who were working inside the sandwich shop, Oswego police said.

Oswego Police Department spokesman Cathy Nevara said the incident occurred around 5:13 p.m. Friday in the 300 block of Douglas Road.

No customers were inside the store, but several employees were, and they handed over more than $500 in cash to the robbers.

Nevara said the men never showed a weapon or made threats of force during their brief time inside the restaurant. No one was injured during the incident.

Both suspects were described as black men wearing masks. One was approximately 6-foot tall and thin. The second suspect was described as approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall and stocky.

According to Nevara, the men fled the store and got into a dark-colored SUV or minivan. They were last seen traveling north on Douglas Road.

Kendall County Sheriff’s deputies are also investigating a robbery that occurred early Thursday morning at a Boulder Hill gas station. In that incident, two masked men holding screwdrivers demanded money from a store clerk and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash. It is uncertain if the two incidents are related.

Anyone with information about the Subway incident is asked to call Oswego police.
