Start listening

So now Waukegan Mayor Wayne Motley believes he has the right to decide whose comments he deems worthy of hearing at the City Council meetings. It’s laughable if it wasn’t so typical. This city is being silenced because he doesn’t want to hear negativism at the start of the meetings? Absurd. The real problem as I see it is that he has failed miserably and doesn’t want to be reminded of that fact. He killed the Community Policing Unit then miraculously it will return in a lesser form. He has crippled the Neighborhood Watch program, he caters to slum lords, allows over crowding, and can’t even see that the parking ban is ticket enforced during snow storms. I think the bottom line is that Mayor Motley can’t handle the truth. He needs to start listening. What a concept.

Fix Zion

Zion should be worried about safety for the citizens. Clean the sidewalks, fix the potholes, fix burned out lights and fix street signs. Stop creating more financial burdens on property owners, which is making a lot of elderly owners get sick and probably blame the city and sue for this unfair stress-related illness. Do you really want another lawsuit?

Need law and order

Besides color, what’s the difference between the latest young man and the other young men killed by police? Could it be that the father realizes that his son’s behavior prompted responding police officers’ actions? When police are called regarding a male carrying a weapon and behaving erratically, how do they know how old a person is, the health/mental condition, what was drunk, smoked or injected, whether they were going to turn their life around, and if so when? After the latest irresponsible behavior? Save lives, teach them respect and responsibility for themselves and others because we all need law and order.

Changed protocol

I read in the Lake County News-Sun that the mayor of Waukegan has changed the city’s public comment, feedback protocol. He wants to get rid of what he calls disruptions of normal citizens having complaints that he doesn’t like. He’s going to have to remove the new rule that he put in effect.

No fear

In response to the comment in the TOTC “Clinton’s are afraid of Trump.” The Clintons aren’t afraid of Trump because he has no idea what he’s doing.

No holiday spirit

Why didn’t Waukegan have any Christmas decorations this past year? It seems most of the towns had decorations up for Christmas, and even North Chicago participated, which was very surprising.

Your responsibility

Quit whining. It’s your vehicle, your sticker and your responsibility. It’s not the government’s responsibility to remind you to get your sticker.
