College GameDay is headed to Notre Dame.

The basketball roadshow will set up in South Bend for No. 25 Notre Dame’s Feb. 6 showdown with No. 2 North Carolina. It takes place from 10-11 a.m. at Purcell Pavilion. The event is free and open to the public. Doors open at 8 a.m.

The teams play at 6 p.m. An evening version of the show proceeds the game. It will be televised on ESPN.

This marks College GameDay’s third stop at Notre Dame. It’s the first visit since Feb. 9, 2013, ahead of Notre Dame’s 104-101 five-overtime victory against Louisville. Notre Dame also hosted GameDay on Jan. 24, 2009. Connecticut defeated the Irish that evening, 69-61.

North Carolina has been the road team for GameDay locations eight times.

It’s the only regular-season meeting between the teams this year. Both have work to do ahead of the Feb. 6 tip-off.

The Irish have a home game Sunday against Wake Forest and travel to Miami on Wednesday before North Carolina’s visits. The Tar Heels entered Saturday’s game against Boston College with a 7-0 ACC record. North Carolina also has a road game against Louisville on Monday before playing the Irish.

Notre Dame defeated North Carolina twice last season, including 90-82 in the ACC tournament championship game.
