Four people were arrested after they led police on a chase beginning in the Near North Neighborhood and ending in the Loop during rush hour Thursday, police said.
The incident began after four people were suspected in an earlier armed robbery that happened at a boutique store about 2:40 p.m. in the 1600 block of North Wells Street, police said. The attackers grabbed items from the store and fled in a gray vehicle waiting outside, police said.
Police tried to stop the suspected vehicle, but the driver refused to pull over.
The driver led police on a chase that began at Chicago Avenue and State Street. The chase ended a short time later at 6:27 p.m. at Randolph Street and Stetson Avenue in the Loop, police said.
During the chase, the vehicle struck several other vehicles, but no injuries were reported, police said.
Charges were pending.
