Three Oak Forest businesses sold tobacco products to minors in the latest compliance check, police said.

The third and final round of the 2015-2016 “Kids Can’t Buy Them Here” check conducted on Thursday at 23 locations found that three of the businesses sold products to youth agents, according to the Oak Forest Police Department.

The 7-Eleven at 4901 W. 167th St., Convenient Food Mart at 15103 S. Cicero Ave., and the Mobile Gas Station at 14701 S. Central Ave. will be fined $200 to $500 for each violation, police said.

Oak Forest’s youth agents provided identification when requested at each of the businesses surveyed during the compliance check, police said.

The purpose of the program is to find which business might be selling tobacco those younger than 18 years old within the city limits, police said.

Police commended Circle K, Osco Drug, Eddy’s Liquor and Tobacco, Dotty’s, Marathon Gas Station, 7-Eleven on Central Avenue, Shell Gas Station on 159th Street, Foremost Liquors, Citgo Gas Station, Stop and Go, Aisha’s Golo Food Mart, Food 4 Less, Food 4 Less Fuel Station, BP Amoco, Swagat Foods, Tracy’s Bistro, Walgreen’s, Shell Gas Station on 167th Street and Rose Liquors for not selling to youth agents.

Compliance checks are funded through a grant from the Illinois Liquor Control Commission.
