Theater Wit announced the remainder of its 2016-17 season Friday, a three-play slate that will follow the previously announced production of Mat Smart’s Caribou Coffee-set “Naperville” opening this month.

Opening during election season will be Mike Daisey’s “The Trump Card,” a 70-minute monologue that examines the reign of the Republican presidential nominee. Artistic director Jeremy Wechsler will helm the production, opening Oct. 5 and closing on Nov. 8, election night.

For the holidays, Mitchell Fain will perform “This Way Outta Santaland,” an autobiographical show about his eight years playing Crumpet the Christmas-hating elf in “The Santaland Diaries.” The meta-theatrical seasonal offering runs Nov. 23-Dec. 23.

Closing out the season is the Chicago premiere of Anne Washburn’s “10 Out of 12,” a behind-the-scenes look at a technical rehearsal of a play, complete with headsets for the audience to hear all the backstage chatter. The production, to be directed by Wechsler with assistance from Washburn, runs March 3-April 23.

All performances will take place at Theater Wit, 1229 W. Belmont Ave.
