For the second year in a row, Daily Southtown readers have named the State Farm office of Denise Wegner as the best agent in the region. Wegner received the same accolade in the 2015 Best of the Southland reader’s survey.
Never one to take all the credit, Wegner says she hires people who always put the customers first. “I hire people who are smart and have great personalities. I can teach them insurance, but I can’t teach them to care about our customers. That has to be there from the beginning,” she says of her team.
One of her team members includes her daughter, Office Manager Bridget Radzevicius, who, Wegner says, always brings a cheerful attitude to the office and occasionally her dog, Jake, known as the office mascot.
In addition to having the right people in place, staying on top of the industry to make sure she’s giving her clients everything they need is a key component to the success of the office, Wegner says.
Wegner continues to update her insurance credentials. In addition to the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) industry designations, Wegner this past year earned the Chartered Advisor for Senior Living (CASL) designation as well.
“The education required to earn these designations help ensure that I’m giving my clients the best possible service,” Wegner says. “It also helps me keep up with the ever-changing financial environment. That is essential.”
Wegner recently attended State Farm’s North Central Market Area recognition event held in Charleston, South Carolina, that is open only to the Top 7 percent of agents within a four-state area.
For Wegner, most important is recommending what’s right for the client, not the agency. “That’s why they’re comfortable referring their friends and family to us.” she says. “They know that they will be treated the same way. “
