A party spirals out of control, the music rich but low key, a melange of organ and hovering synthesizers. Ocean uses distorting devices on his voice to add emotional texture and to enhance and sharpen the characters he briefly embodies. AP"Love & Hate" shows Kiwanuka breaking out of that stylistic box. His core remains intact: a grainy, world-weary voice contemplating troubled times in intimate musical settings. The album announces its more ambitious intentions from the outset, with the trembling strings, episodic piano chords and wordless vocals of the 10-minute "Cold Little Heart." It's a striking, if atypical, approach to reintroducing himself to his audience — a five-minute preamble before Kiwanuka begins to sing. Read the full review.

AP"Peace Trail" — Neil Young's second album this year and sixth since 2014 — is occasionally fascinating. It's also not very good, a release that surely would've benefited from a bit more time and consideration, which might have given Young's ad hoc band — drummer Jim Keltner and bassist Paul Bushnell — a chance to actually learn the songs. Looking for tickets to the Chicago run of “Hamilton” and seeing only sold-out houses? Look again Monday and over the next couple of days, says Jeffrey Seller, the hit musical’s lead producer.
In an interview here Thursday, Seller said that more tickets were in the process of being added to the available inventory. The reason? Enforcement of the maximum purchase of six-per-person rule.
“It is not thousands of tickets but it is a significant number,” Seller said. “Anyone who bought more than the number allowed now has had their money refunded. And that was mostly ‘bots.'”
“Hamilton,” which begins preview performances at the PrivateBank Theatre in Chicago Sept. 27, has been waging a public war against scalpers and their automated ticket purchases.
Prior to the addition, the first block of “Hamilton” tickets covering performances through next March was, Seller said, almost entirely sold out. Tickets are, however, widely available at inflated prices through resellers.
A second, formidable block of “Hamilton” in Chicago tickets, Seller said, is slated to go on official sale before the press opening Oct 19. The precise date has not yet been set. The new block will likely cover performances from from March 21 through September 2017.
